You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Elliot Washington II in Round 5, Pick 25. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The McClain steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
