The Colts cashed the board's mistake on Majors: B-.

Somebody in the 149th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Colts sat still while Jake Majors, the No. 95 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. The Watts pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots still on the board. Every board in the league had Delp lower, and that gap is the story.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value.
Pick43 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks at No. 43 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick79 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
Of all the spots to shop, they chose safety. Xavier Watts in the Round 3 slot leaves wide receiver, quarterback and other spots for later.
Pick115 Rnd4 Maxwell Hairston
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Maxwell Hairston adds a cornerback and leaves wide receiver, quarterback and other spots untouched.
Pick149 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the 149th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick187 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at slot 187 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick227 Rnd7 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at pick 227 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick256 Rnd7 Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp in the 256th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
