Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Ravens a B-. Nobody had Collin Oliver this high, and it is not close. The Ravens reached 159 spots to get him at Round 4, Pick 34. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
On value alone, Leonard makes the weekend a net positive. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In No. 27 they get a load in the middle. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick59
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
They paid a round early for Jayden Higgins in the Round 2 slot, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick91
Rnd3
Barrett Carter
The board had Barrett Carter higher than slot 91, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick129
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton in the 129th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick136
Rnd4
Collin Oliver
They talked themselves into Collin Oliver at pick No. 136, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick176
Rnd5
Trevor Etienne
They robbed the room for Trevor Etienne here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick183
Rnd6
JJ Pegues
They took JJ Pegues at par in the 183rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick203
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jaylen Reed at the Round 6 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick210
Rnd6
Riley Leonard
A quarterback of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 34 is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Pick212
Rnd6
CJ Dippre
CJ Dippre in the 212th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick243
Rnd7
Hunter Wohler
They went early on Hunter Wohler in slot 243, and the value did not follow. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
