Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB
The Commanders won the night they stopped Marks from sliding. Grade: B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Commanders watched Woody Marks slide 54 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick No. 35 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick61 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
No edge and no loss on Donovan Jackson in pick 61; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick103 Rnd4 Savion Williams
Savion Williams slid further than he should have, and No. 103 is lovely value for the wide receiver. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick128 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson slipping to slot 128 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick205 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson in the 205th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick245 Rnd7 Woody Marks
Woody Marks in Round 7, Pick 29 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
