Draft Grade — Giants

FutureB-
Maye is the plan now, and the Giants grade out a B-. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. All has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Drake Maye
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick47
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cooper Beebe. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70
Rnd3
Max Melton
No edge and no loss on Max Melton in the 70th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick107
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Fair-plus on Cole Bishop, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick141
Rnd5
Luke McCaffrey
A premium they did not need to pay, Luke McCaffrey a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick183
Rnd6
Erick All
They reached a country mile for Erick All at slot 183, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
