Grand theft in the 226th pick: the 49ers steal Skattebo and grade out a B-.

Somebody in pick No. 226 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 110 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They will need Jones Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
