DA BEARS DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bears to a C. The Charles Jagusah pick is the one that will follow the Bears into the fall. They took him 46 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A weekend of give and take that grades a C.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
If Jamari Sharpe and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jamari Sharpe
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick89
Rnd3
Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
Kenyatta Jackson Jr. at pick 89 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick129
Rnd4
Charles Jagusah
They talked themselves into Charles Jagusah at the 129th overall pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick239
Rnd7
Kaleb Jackson
Kaleb Jackson at slot 239 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick241
Rnd7
Gentry Williams
A straight-up fair deal on Gentry Williams at the 241st pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
