Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B+
ValueC NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Titans finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B+.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Titans reached some 128 spots for Barryn Sorrell, and value like that does not grow back.

Quinn Ewers is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. On value alone, Sampson makes the weekend a net positive. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Quinn Ewers
In slot 25 they get their guy under center for the next decade, a steep price for the projection.
Pick37 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malaki Starks at the 37th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick97 Rnd3 Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson in Round 3, Pick 33 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick104 Rnd4 Luke Kandra
No drama and no debate, Luke Kandra went about where he belonged in the 104th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick119 Rnd4 Deontae Lawson
They robbed the room for Deontae Lawson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick140 Rnd5 Mason Taylor
They will replay Mason Taylor at pick No. 140 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Taking Jake Majors in pick No. 144 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick167 Rnd5 Barryn Sorrell
Barryn Sorrell at slot 167 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick181 Rnd6 Davison Igbinosun
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Davison Igbinosun well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick243 Rnd7 Bru McCoy
They talked themselves into Bru McCoy at pick 243, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
