The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Williams: D-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bears reached some 60 spots for Tanner McLachlan, and value like that does not grow back. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
