The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Malachi Fields, the No. 72 name on the board, in pick 125. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They are betting Benson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
