The Panthers let Neal fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

Somebody in the Round 5 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Panthers sat still while Julian Neal, the No. 75 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Reaching for Graves left real value on the table behind him. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

It is not that Graves is a bad player; it is that the Panthers had louder needs to answer first.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
