FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B+
ValueB+
NeedB-
TradesA+
FutureB-
The Seahawks let Taylor fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+. Thirty-one other rooms let Mason Taylor slide, and the Seahawks were the ones holding the card at the Round 5 slot. Highway robbery. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
They will need Slackman to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
Good price on Walter Nolen in slot 18, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick51
Rnd2
Tyler Warren
Fair-plus on Tyler Warren, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick92
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Andrew Mukuba in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick121
Rnd4
Tai Felton
Tai Felton in the 121st pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick136
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Taking Jake Majors in No. 136 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick161
Rnd5
Smael Mondon Jr.
Somehow Smael Mondon Jr. was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 24, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick173
Rnd5
Mason Taylor
They robbed the room for Mason Taylor here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick184
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
They paid up for Miles Frazier at pick No. 184 when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick188
Rnd6
Theo Wease Jr.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Theo Wease Jr.. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick210
Rnd6
Clay Webb
Clay Webb in the 210th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick228
Rnd7
Aydan White
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Aydan White well ahead of where he belonged. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick234
Rnd7
Joey Slackman
A big swing on Joey Slackman at Round 7, Pick 18, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
