No fireworks, just a tidy B for the 49ers.

Nobody else had Phillip Webb anywhere near the Round 7 slot. The 49ers did, by 108 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

That Giddens pick is the receipt they will wave around later. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. The veteran additions, Tyreek Hill chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
