Draft Grade — Packers
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
Larceny in the 230th pick lands the Packers a A-, Lovett and all.

Whoever sat across the table from the Packers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.

With tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on DT-EDGE is the choice that costs them. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

They banked enough surplus on Lovett to cover a lot of smaller sins. The cost of the Harris reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Jer'Zhan Newton and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
In No. 22 they get an anchor for the defensive front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman in pick No. 43 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
Pick46 Rnd2 Kalen King
Kalen King at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick73 Rnd3 Jermaine Burton
A slide stopped in slot 73, with Jermaine Burton worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick82 Rnd3 Maason Smith
A curious use of the 82nd overall pick. Tight end needed the pick; a DT-EDGE in Maason Smith did not.
Pick86 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zak Zinter. It fills a real need, too.
Pick109 Rnd4 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders in slot 109 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick135 Rnd4 Zach Frazier
They paid sticker price for Zach Frazier in Round 4, Pick 35, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick145 Rnd5 KJ Jefferson
A tidy little value on KJ Jefferson in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick186 Rnd6 Devin Neal
By-the-book stuff, Devin Neal at No. 186 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick187 Rnd6 Tre Harris
They went early on Tre Harris in pick No. 187, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick217 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Curtis Jacobs at the 217th overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick219 Rnd6 Shemar Turner
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Shemar Turner at the 219th pick is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick230 Rnd7 Dominic Lovett
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 230 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
