The Raiders left with their quarterback, and a A- to match.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Raiders were there to profit. David Bailey, the No. 12 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 134th overall pick. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

Whatever Fernando Mendoza becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.

The Raiders clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, with Fernando Mendoza leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
