They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Princewill Umanmielen, 101 picks early at slot 147.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. With tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Washington pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
