The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Patriots reached some 81 spots for Paris Shand, and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

However the rest shakes out, Lawson at that price is a win they earned. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
