The Patriots bled value on every deal, hence the D+. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Patriots spent the Round 3 slot on David Walker, a name most had 72 spots down the list.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Higgins steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
