The tape said wait; the Colts did not. Eric Watts went at Round 5, Pick 37, a good 31 picks before the board was ready.

A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
