Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Commanders were there to profit. Cam Skattebo, the No. 99 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 207th pick.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. The Jackson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
