Higgins should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a A-.

The Bears did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jay Higgins fell into pick No. 240.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Cooper Beebe pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.
