JaxMajik DRAFTING FOR THEJaguars
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall

FutureB-
Coleman should have been long gone. The Jaguars pounced, and earned a B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Jaguars were there to profit. Keon Coleman, the No. 42 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 96.
They will need Anderson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the 17th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48
Rnd2
Cooper DeJean
You do not let a cornerback like Cooper DeJean reach slot 48 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick96
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
The board fumbled Keon Coleman all the way to pick No. 96, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick114
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
Circle this one: Dominick Puni at the 114th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick116
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Khyree Jackson in pick 116, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick153
Rnd5
Johnny Wilson
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 17 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick212
Rnd6
JD Bertrand
A conviction pick on JD Bertrand at the Round 6 slot that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236
Rnd7
Evan Anderson
Evan Anderson at No. 236 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
