Nobody dealt better than the Packers this weekend: B+. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Packers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
Thomas has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Kamari Lassiter
In pick 27 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Quinyon Mitchell
Quinyon Mitchell slipping to pick No. 41 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick60
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
No drama and no debate, T'Vondre Sweat went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 28. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88
Rnd3
Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick90
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Christian Mahogany at slot 90 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick91
Rnd3
Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson at the 91st pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick125
Rnd4
Javon Foster
A straight-up fair deal on Javon Foster at the 125th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick128
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Fair-plus on Tommy Eichenberg, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick135
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at pick No. 135 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick203
Rnd6
Stefon Thompson
Stefon Thompson at No. 203 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Pick217
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
They robbed the room for Jared Wiley here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219
Rnd6
Xavier Thomas
A real head-scratcher, Xavier Thomas in Round 6, Pick 44 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick246
Rnd7
Carson Steele
By-the-book stuff, Carson Steele at pick 246 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick249
Rnd7
Eric Gentry
Nice patience on Eric Gentry, who had no business lasting to the Round 7 slot. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
