Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Broncos were there to profit. Carson Schwesinger, the No. 69 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 3, Pick 25. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Riley lower, and that gap is the story. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
