Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB-

FutureB-
The Falcons fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B. The Falcons bet big and early on Cam Jackson, 53 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
That Mukuba pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The Falcons paired the rookies with proven help, Cody Barton leading the way.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick51
Rnd2
Ashton Gillotte
They jumped the gun on Ashton Gillotte, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick55
Rnd2
Marcus Mbow
Marcus Mbow at No. 55 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick86
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
They read the board right and Andrew Mukuba was the payoff at the 86th pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick177
Rnd5
Cam Jackson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Cam Jackson. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick201
Rnd6
CJ West
A premium they did not need to pay, CJ West a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick220
Rnd7
Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier at pick No. 220 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick244
Rnd7
Moliki Matavao
A reach on Moliki Matavao in the Round 7 slot; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick253
Rnd7
Gino Garcia
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Gino Garcia well ahead of where he belonged. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
