Best value of the weekend goes to the Falcons for Dumas-Johnson: B+. Somebody in Round 7, Pick 26 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Falcons sat still while Jamon Dumas-Johnson, the No. 215 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will need Hairston to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In slot 27 they get an anchor for the defensive front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
By-the-book stuff, JT Tuimoloau at pick 46 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick59
Rnd2
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston at No. 59 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick117
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. in pick No. 117 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick244
Rnd7
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
They robbed the room for Jamon Dumas-Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
