Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

ValueB

FutureA
Best value of the weekend goes to the Browns for Wilson: A-. When a board-topper like Jared Wilson slides to slot 179, you do not overthink it, and the Browns did not.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Burch reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Kelvin Banks Jr.
In the 3rd overall pick they get a building block for the line. A real need, handled.
Pick33
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in pick 33 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
Good price on Jalen Royals in Round 3, Pick 1, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at the 67th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick94
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick104
Rnd4
Kyle McCord
They paid a round early for Kyle McCord in pick No. 104, more than the board wanted. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick179
Rnd6
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson in slot 179 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick192
Rnd6
Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough at No. 192 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick200
Rnd6
CJ West
CJ West in slot 200 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick216
Rnd6
Damien Martinez
Somehow Damien Martinez was still sitting there in the 216th overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick254
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
A linebacker of that caliber at pick 254 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
