Draft Grade — Jets
Overall

FutureC+
The Jets lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Jets took Zion Logue a full 43 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Still steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Joe Alt
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick8
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 8th overall pick they get a true top target, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Pick72
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
Good price on Blake Fisher in pick No. 72, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick87
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice at slot 87 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick111
Rnd4
Luke McCaffrey
They talked themselves into Luke McCaffrey at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick121
Rnd4
Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. in the 121st pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
No edge and no loss on Tyler Davis in pick 134; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick136
Rnd4
Javon Foster
Javon Foster at the Round 4 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick256
Rnd7
Tarheeb Still
They will replay Tarheeb Still at the 256th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick257
Rnd7
Zion Logue
Zion Logue in slot 257 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
