KATNISS 808 DRAFTING FOR THECommanders
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Commanders checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Commanders did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to tight end, which was the need that mattered most. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Every board in the league had Tuimoloau lower, and that gap is the story. However the rest shakes out, Wells Jr. at that price is a win they earned. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
JT Tuimoloau
In the 29th overall pick they get a problem off the edge, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Quinshon Judkins
By-the-book stuff, Quinshon Judkins at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick128
Rnd4
Cobee Bryant
They did well to land Cobee Bryant in No. 128, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick205
Rnd6
Antwane Wells Jr.
Nice patience on Antwane Wells Jr., who had no business lasting to pick No. 205. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson in slot 245 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
