Everything downstream of J.J. McCarthy depends on J.J. McCarthy, and the building knows it. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Every board in the league had Lovett lower, and that gap is the story.
