Grand theft in pick 45: the Raiders steal Emmanwori and grade out a B. The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Nick Emmanwori, the Round 2 slot, roughly 25 picks past where he belonged.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant in pick No. 37 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick45
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
You do not let a safety like Nick Emmanwori reach slot 45 and blink. They did not. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick68
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
They read the board right and TreVeyon Henderson was the payoff at the 68th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick108
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Zy Alexander at No. 108. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick143
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
They barely believed it either: Kyle McCord still on the board at the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick180
Rnd6
DJ Giddens
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing DJ Giddens in pick 180. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick213
Rnd6
Woody Marks
The board fumbled Woody Marks all the way to the 213th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick215
Rnd6
Caleb Rogers
The board had Caleb Rogers higher than pick 215, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick222
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw slipping to Round 7, Pick 6 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
