The Patriots kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Kyle Williams in the 106th overall pick, a good 23 spots before the room expected him. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
They paid a round early for Donovan Ezeiruaku in pick 38, more than the board wanted. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick69 Rnd3 Darien Porter
A reach on Darien Porter in the 69th pick; the board had better options right there. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

They liked Jordan Burch enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 3 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
