More right than wrong for the Broncos, and a B- to prove it.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Broncos spent pick No. 51 on Gunnar Helm, a name most had 39 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. McMillan at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

In pick 20 they get a weapon on the perimeter, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.

A real head-scratcher, Gunnar Helm in the 51st pick is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

They went early on Darius Alexander in Round 3, Pick 21, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaylin Lane. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

They liked Jason Marshall Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 6 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.

They paid a round early for Nazir Stackhouse in No. 197, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
