Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB+
Nobody dealt better than the Bears this weekend: B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bears were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

They are betting Thrash proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In No. 1 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick10 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In the 10th pick they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick42 Rnd2 Nate Wiggins
Nate Wiggins at pick No. 42 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick69 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
They paid sticker price for Sedrick Van Pran in Round 3, Pick 5, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Nice patience on Zak Zinter, who had no business lasting to pick 105. It fills a real need, too.
Pick125 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at slot 125 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick128 Rnd4 Shemar Turner
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Shemar Turner. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick142 Rnd5 Jamari Thrash
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jamari Thrash in the Round 5 slot, miles early. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick231 Rnd7 Tyreek Chappell
No drama and no debate, Tyreek Chappell went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 11. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick247 Rnd7 Miyan Williams
Miyan Williams in pick No. 247 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
