Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Dolphins won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Dolphins took Da'Shawn Womack a full 59 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Stowers at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane in the 45th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick76 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy slid further than he should have, and the 76th pick is lovely value for the safety. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick89 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
They barely believed it either: Eli Stowers still on the board at pick No. 89. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick90 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
Omar Cooper Jr. is a better player than pick 90 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick111 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
By-the-book stuff, Domani Jackson at slot 111 squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick152 Rnd5 Vincent Anthony Jr.
Vincent Anthony Jr. in No. 152 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick227 Rnd7 Da'Shawn Womack
Da'Shawn Womack at pick No. 227 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
