Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureA+
The Seahawks lost the trade table, and the B- tells the story.

The war room fell hard for Michael Barrett, and it showed at the 152nd pick: 35 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

DeJean at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick58 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Value with a capital V on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in slot 58, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick77 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
A conviction pick on Christian Mahogany at pick 77 that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick79 Rnd3 Cooper DeJean
They barely believed it either: Cooper DeJean still on the board at No. 79. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick115 Rnd4 AJ Barner
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on AJ Barner. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick152 Rnd5 Michael Barrett
A big swing on Michael Barrett at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick193 Rnd6 Keith Randolph Jr.
They took Keith Randolph Jr. at par in the 193rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick236 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
Joshua Gray at the 236th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
