Draft Grade — Falcons

FutureB-
The Falcons cashed the board's mistake on McGlothern: D. The Falcons lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took McGlothern.
The Gray pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Laiatu Latu
In No. 8 they get a premier pass rusher. A real need, handled.
Pick43
Rnd2
Quinyon Mitchell
Good price on Quinyon Mitchell in the 43rd overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick44
Rnd2
J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy at Round 2, Pick 12 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick74
Rnd3
Javon Bullard
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Javon Bullard at the Round 3 slot is the proof. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick111
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg in pick No. 111 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick145
Rnd5
Moose Muhammad III
They jumped the gun on Moose Muhammad III, taking him earlier than his grade liked. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick187
Rnd6
Justin Eboigbe
The board had Justin Eboigbe higher than Round 6, Pick 12, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Pick189
Rnd6
Joshua Gray
They paid a round early for Joshua Gray in No. 189, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick201
Rnd6
Bryson Nesbit
Bryson Nesbit at pick 201 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick244
Rnd7
Dwight McGlothern
You do not let a cornerback like Dwight McGlothern reach the 244th pick and blink. They did not. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
