Boards are made to be trusted, and the Falcons shredded theirs for Luke McCaffrey. He came off 45 spots early, and the room will hear about it. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
