The Falcons did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Falcons never got to the one that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They will need Sanders to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

In the 30th pick they get a problem off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders at the 40th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor need, but a need all the same.

They took Danny Stutsman at par in No. 62, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.

Zach Rice at slot 72 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.

The board had cheaper options than Seth McLaughlin at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on J. Michael Sturdivant. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

A reasonable price with a little left over, Kaimon Rucker in Round 5, Pick 18. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
