The Seahawks clearly saw something nobody else did in Willie Lampkin, taking him 62 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The board sounded every alarm, and the F is the fallout.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Whatever Bo Nix becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.

McGlothern at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.
