Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureA+
The Raiders won the night they stopped McNeil-Warren from sliding. Grade: B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Raiders watched Emmanuel McNeil-Warren slide 36 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They will need Hobbs to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Raiders paired the rookies with proven help, Trevon Diggs leading the way.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In slot 12 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece at fair value.
Pick20 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick67 Rnd3 Will Lee III
Will Lee III is a better player than No. 67 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102 Rnd4 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Steal is underselling it; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 102nd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick117 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
A tidy bit of business in the 117th pick, where D'Angelo Ponds graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 Drew Allar
Drew Allar at Round 4, Pick 34 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick174 Rnd5 Earnest Greene III
Nothing to complain about; Earnest Greene III went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick180 Rnd6 Eric McAlister
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Eric McAlister in pick 180. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick183 Rnd6 Daevin Hobbs
They talked themselves into Daevin Hobbs at the 183rd overall pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219 Rnd7 Fernando Carmona
Fernando Carmona in pick No. 219 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
