Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueC- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
The Jets left with their quarterback, and a B- to match.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Jets would have aced it. Noah Thomas at the 143rd overall pick is 94 spots clear of where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Drew Allar gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Braxton falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Drew Allar
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get their quarterback of the future, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Nyck Harbor
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nyck Harbor this early at the 36th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick68 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
A real head-scratcher, Harold Perkins Jr. in pick 68 is miles ahead of his ranking. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick104 Rnd4 DeMonte Capehart
This one needs a full-page explanation: DeMonte Capehart in No. 104, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick139 Rnd5 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan in pick No. 139 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick143 Rnd5 Noah Thomas
They reached a country mile for Noah Thomas at the 143rd pick, and the board is aghast. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick182 Rnd6 Dasan McCullough
No edge and no loss on Dasan McCullough in Round 6, Pick 6; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick197 Rnd6 Taylen Green
Taylen Green slipping to pick No. 197 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick210 Rnd6 Jaylon Braxton
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaylon Braxton at No. 210 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick251 Rnd7 Fred Davis
They jumped the gun on Fred Davis, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick253 Rnd7 Courtland Ford
Courtland Ford in the 253rd pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
