You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Lions did exactly that with J.J. Weaver in slot 249.

The McCaffrey steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.

They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.

In slot 32 they get a long-term starter on the line, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
