You build a draft on nights like this. Caedan Wallace had no business being available in pick 249, and the Lions did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Every board in the league had Jean-Baptiste lower, and that gap is the story. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
