You build a draft on nights like this. Colston Loveland had no business being available in pick No. 44, and the Bears did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Every board in the league had Brown Jr. lower, and that gap is the story.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
