The 49ers cashed the board's mistake on Jones Jr.: A-.

The 49ers ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

The cost of the Pegues reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Jones Jr..

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.
