Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Falcons for Sinnott: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Falcons were there to profit. Ben Sinnott, the No. 129 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 156.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. The Puni reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
No edge and no loss on Dallas Turner in pick 8; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick54 Rnd2 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske at pick No. 54 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick74 Rnd3 Kris Abrams-Draine
Kris Abrams-Draine in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick79 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
A premium they did not need to pay, Dominick Puni a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick84 Rnd3 Ja'Lynn Polk
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ja'Lynn Polk at the 84th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks in Round 4, Pick 9 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick143 Rnd5 Johnny Wilson
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Johnny Wilson in No. 143, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick156 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
You do not let a tight end like Ben Sinnott reach slot 156 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick187 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
Good price on Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 187, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick197 Rnd6 Trente Jones
No drama and no debate, Trente Jones went about where he belonged in the 197th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick206 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at pick 206 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
