Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Steelers a B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Dorian Singer in pick 201, a good 59 spots before the room expected him. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered. The back end got a real overhaul.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Kamren Kinchens
In No. 23 they get a downhill hitter at safety. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick66 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at the 66th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick85 Rnd3 Marist Liufau
They paid sticker price for Marist Liufau in Round 3, Pick 22, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick87 Rnd3 Max Melton
Max Melton at slot 87 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick122 Rnd4 Cam Hart
Cam Hart at the 122nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick147 Rnd5 Keith Randolph Jr.
The board had cheaper options than Keith Randolph Jr. at pick No. 147, and it noticed. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick201 Rnd6 Dorian Singer
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dorian Singer in No. 201, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
Pick244 Rnd7 Devin Leary
Devin Leary in Round 7, Pick 24 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
