Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Packers a B+.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Jaylon Hutchings at pick 245, a reach of 109 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is McCaffrey. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will answer for taking linebacker early while tight end went begging.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick34 Rnd2 Quinyon Mitchell
A quiet steal in pick No. 34: Quinyon Mitchell for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick36 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean slid further than he should have, and the 36th overall pick is lovely value for the cornerback. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick49 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper in slot 49 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
A curious use of No. 58. Tight end needed the pick; a linebacker in Payton Wilson did not.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
They did well to land Kingsley Suamataia in the 68th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick90 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at the Round 3 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick91 Rnd3 Mohamed Kamara
They reached into another round for Mohamed Kamara, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick94 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
They will replay Patrick Paul at the 94th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick124 Rnd4 Max Melton
They barely believed it either: Max Melton still on the board at pick 124. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick126 Rnd4 Isaac Guerendo
No drama and no debate, Isaac Guerendo went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 26. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in pick No. 169 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick202 Rnd6 Luke McCaffrey
Steal is underselling it; Luke McCaffrey at slot 202 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick215 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at No. 215 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd6 Julian Pearl
Julian Pearl at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick238 Rnd7 Evan Williams
Somehow Evan Williams was still sitting there in pick No. 238, and they pounced on premier safety value. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jaylon Hutchings
Jaylon Hutchings in the Round 7 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick255 Rnd7 Frank Crum
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Frank Crum. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
