Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with Zion Logue in the 255th overall pick.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Landing Ali that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In the 25th pick they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
They took Cooper Beebe at par in No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick58 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 58, where Edgerrin Cooper graded well above the range. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick88 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
By-the-book stuff, Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at the 88th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
A tidy little value on Dominick Puni in Round 3, Pick 28, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Pick126 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Beaux Limmer. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick169 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
A straight-up fair deal on Malik Mustapha at the 169th pick, value and slot in agreement. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
No drama and no debate, Jaylan Ford went about where he belonged in No. 202. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick219 Rnd6 Rasheen Ali
Rasheen Ali at Round 6, Pick 44 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick245 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman in slot 245 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick255 Rnd7 Zion Logue
They reached into another round for Zion Logue, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
